Flotilla 2-4 is looking for a few good students for a 13 week Boating Skills and Seamanship course.  If you think you have what it takes for this class and want to expand your boating knowledge beyond a basic boating course email me!  This class qualifies for the NJ boating safety certificate.  This class will begin in the fall of 2009.  Register early to ensure your seat! The Coast Guard Auxiliary currently offers 4 courses starting with a basic boating course called About Boating Safely (ABS).  This course offers basic boating skills, such as knowing your boat, boat handling, trailering, how to avoid problems on the water ect.  In 8 hours we cover 7 chapters followed by a test.   This course provides a flexible as well as an exciting presentation!  About Boating Safely Course covers material that goes beyond the basic NASBLA
     (National Association of State Boating Law Administrators) requirements and provides
     the student with a comprehensive foundation on which to start a boating career or
     update boating knowledge.  The course uses state-of-the-art graphics and technology
     and appeals to all age groups.

About Boating Safely Website

Boating Skills and Seamanship [BS&S]

This course, designed with power boaters in mind who wants to expand beyond the minimum.  It covers a minimum of six and up to thirteen lessons.
The first six lessons are called the core subjects and are the minimum required to receive a certificate.
The additional seven lessons cover more subjects. In all, there are thirteen chapters.

GPS For mariners

This is a entry level course on understanding and using your GPS.

Weekend Navigator

This 17 chapter course covers more advanced navigation for boaters
